It’s been a hot minute since we’ve updated you on our basement repairs. A lot has happened, both the expected and the unexpected. Hold on to your hat. Here we go!

First up, the downspout on the back of the house was replaced and extended farther into the yard.

Also, some resin filler was added under the slab patio, raising the patio and making it more even. We saw the difference immediately though you might not be able to tell from these pictures.

After that, it was time for the drywall and paint crew to finish their tasks.

Finally the big hole in the wall was repaired!

The half bath was ready for the sink to be re-installed.

Little did we know that these toilet fixtures would be a problem.

The last step was replacing the carpet on the stairs. Chris also replaced the stairway pictures. We thought we were done with construction workers in our house! But it wasn’t to be.

We started setting up some things to get the basement back to normal. First off was the all-important scoreboard and Pop-a-Shot.

Then Chris moved on to trophies, bobbleheads, and other sports memorabilia.

Chris and Poppaw re-installed the sink. Then we started hanging the biggest pictures on the walls.

Finally, the plumber re-installed the toilet. It looks great, right? Well, it turned out that the drywall crew did not patch correctly around the pipes coming out of the wall.

That meant that the plumber had to cut the freshly patched and painted drywall in order to access the pipes and adjust them! ::Sigh:: Now we wait for the final construction crew to do this touch-up work later this week.

Then we’ll move on to what Avery has been looking forward to the most: selecting and buying furniture. After that, the boys will be responsible for returning all of the pennants and artwork to the walls. And rumor has it that we’re going to have a wall or section dedicated to all things IU, especially all of the football national championship gear the boys have collected. Stay tuned to see how this turns out!
