We’re just one week into our master bathroom renovation, and we already can see huge improvements! Since demo day last week, our contractor has made some great progress.
The old pipes from the toilet and shower base have been removed.
As well as the second set of pipes going to the shower faucet.
New wood was added to even out the walls where the shower door will be installed.
The tile ceiling over the shower is gone along with the bulkhead, one of the parts I hated the most about the old bathroom!
Our contractor spent a lot of time this week in the crawlspace, redoing some plumbing and woodwork under the house. Better him than me! I don’t want anything to do with the crawlspace! The pipes for the new sink are ready to go.
So are the new pipes for the shower. The old copper pipes were replaced with newer and more durable pipes.
And the shower base is installed! I’m marveling at the size of the new shower. It’s slightly bigger than our old shower surround, and the design is much better. We no longer have a bench that takes up half of the shower!
Today our contractor added some wood to the subfloor in preparation for the tile going down. We also had the carpets measured in our bedroom, the living room, and the hallway. Up next is a visit from the electrician, and hopefully the floor will be ready for the tile next week!
