Sorry this post is a few days late. We started having problems with our computer on Sunday night as I was trying to post this update. (Apparently, you shouldn’t let me drive your car or use your computer because I don’t have very good luck with those two items.) The computer now is in the shop for repairs.

Today was the final day for our Week in the Life 2011 project!

We went to the 9 a.m. service at our church this morning. Here’s our church as we arrived.

Avery prefers to walk into church by herself but sometimes she’ll let Daddy carry her. Avery loves going to her class while Chris and I go to the worship service. We’re blessed to have a wonderful children’s department at our church, so we never have to worry about Avery while we enjoy the worship service and sermon.

After the service, Avery has to play in the “boat” in Bibleopolis. The boat is a replica of a New Testament era fishing boat. She plays in the boat with her best buds, Janie and Jack. They all have to exchange a lot of hugs while playing. Apparently Jack was too fast for me to get a picture of him today.

After we left church, we took Avery to Chris’ parents’ house. They asked to have her for the afternoon, so we thought it would be a good time for us to go to a movie and lunch without The Squirt with us. Here’s Avery goofing off in the car while wearing her new sparkly, purple Tinkerbell sunglasses.

Chris and I saw Cowboys and Aliens. Chris wanted to see a loud movie with lots of things blowing up. I wanted to see James Bond and Indiana Jones together on the same screen. I have to admit that I really loved the movie. I’m not a big sci-fi fan, but Chris has convinced me to see two alien movies this year. And I actually enjoyed both of them!
We went to City Barbeque for lunch following the movie. (I can’t believe that I forgot to take the camera inside the restaurant!) Then we just relaxed in the peace and quiet at home. Chris worked on homework while I did my Bible study and read a book. Pretty soon, Mike and Connie brought Avery home after a busy day of swimming, watching Poppaw’s final softball game and eating tacos at their favorite Mexican restaurant.
It’s hard to believe this week long project is over! It was a lot of fun to document our lives for a week. Many of our readers have commented about how much they enjoyed learning about some of the details of our everyday lives and would like to see more Week in the Life projects. It’s a lot of work, so I plan on only doing it once a year! But I’ll probably do a Day in the Life on our blog a few times a year so you can see what goes on in between blog posts.
I’ll show you this week’s completed scrapbook once it’s done. Hopefully that will be before Week in the Life 2012! :o)
