Yesterday I posted an update on the living room. I only have a few things to share about changes to the bathroom.

The electrician installed new lights in the sink room and the shower room…

…including a gloriously bright light in the center of the shower! Our previous shower was kind of dark and felt a bit like a cave, so this will be a nice improvement.

Our contractor installed two towel racks and the toilet paper rack. The two hand towel racks will be installed after the countertop is placed.

Next up was the shower door installation! Isn’t it beautiful? So much glass and airiness.

The best part was a surprise. The door has a double hinge, which means it opens out…

…and in! So when we’re doing taking a shower, we open the door inward to keep all of the water inside the shower base. Genius!

This past Monday was a big day. After nearly 14 weeks, our vanity finally was installed! Whew! It’s nearly a perfect match with our woodwork, which was a pleasant and unplanned bonus. Yesterday a gentleman measured for the countertop, which will be installed next week.

After that, all that’s left to install are the drawer pulls, the sink faucets, the mirrors, and the hand towel racks. I’d venture to say we’re about 90 percent done with the bathroom!
