Happy hump day!

Every morning, I enjoy watching the local news while I eat breakfast. It’s a few quiet moments by myself before everyone else gets up.

Avery chose strawberry yogurt for breakfast this morning. You can’t tell in the first picture, but lately she likes to eat breakfast in her pajamas a lot. Nothing wrong with it…just a sudden change on her part!

All the way to meet Grandma and Grandpa Hromada, she played hide and seek with me and her baby Ronnie.

Here’s the parking lot where we meet Grandma and Grandpa on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

After dropping off Avery, I decided to get gas while it was $3.49 ($3.39 with my Kroger card). I’m glad I did because gas this evening was up to $3.79. I’m sure that’s because of the NASCAR traffic coming to town for the Brickyard on Sunday.

It was a pretty quiet day at work. Here I am doing just about the only thing I dislike about my job: manually embossing gold seals to use on our member certificates.

And here are said seals on some certificates. These certificates, cards and badges are sent following the initiation ceremony, making the pledges official members of the fraternity.

Checking my blog feed this morning.

Fun with Photoshop. And district maps. What a time consuming project this is!

Lunch consisted of buffalo chicken snackers, chocolate mousse yogurt and water.

Working at my computer.

After work, I met my parents to get Avery. Then we headed home in typical afternoon rush hour traffic on I-465.

No nap today meant a hyper afternoon for Grandma and Grandpa but a quiet ride home for me!

Avery usually gets the mail with me. But she was still asleep when we got home.

It took Avery a little bit to wake up and lose the crankiness after we got home. But once she did, she was back to her normal self. Before dinner, she jumped off her stool and into Daddy’s arms. She’s so fast (and I couldn’t find the best camera setting) that all I captured was a white blur!

Neither Chris nor I felt like cooking or eating a big dinner tonight. And Avery didn’t offer to fix anything. So we ate some deli meat sandwiches while Avery enjoyed leftover macaroni and cheese. Dessert was fresh strawberries and bananas.

Our after-dinner activities included reading a new book Avery received as a prize in the library’s summer reading program yesterday. The book is called How Do Dinosaurs Love Their Cats? It’s really cute! I think we’ll have to buy some of the other books in this series!

Tonight was bath night. But before the fun of bath time can begin, Avery had to put all of her toys away.

I’m trying to find a place for everything in the new bathroom.

Somehow we neglected to take bath pictures! After the bath, we brushed Avery’s teeth, put on her pajamas and brushed her hair. It was my turn to put her to bed. So Chris headed to the basement to do his homework while Avery and I read two books, went to the potty and rocked. Then I put her down, and she was asleep by 7:45 p.m.

I worked on organizing the bathroom until about 8:15 p.m. when I joined Chris in the basement. All of a sudden, we heard talking and singing (“…the Bible tells me so!”) from the monitor. Avery had woken up!

After a few minutes, I went upstairs to check on her. She asked to go potty again and did. Then I laid her back down and told her to go to sleep. Thank goodness she did!

While Chris worked on homework, I did my Bible study and wrote this blog post.
We’ll do this all over again tomorrow!
