What did you do on this glorious Thursday? Take a look at our day:

This morning, the dirty dishes in the sink and the clean dishes in the dishwasher were taunting me. And they’re still in their places right now! I’ll tackle this task tomorrow.

While I was getting Avery’s breakfast ready, she read a book to her baby Betsy.

At her request, Avery ate a banana with milk for breakfast.

Get this off my finger, Mommy!

On Thursdays, Chris’ mom comes to our house to pick up Avery and watch her for the day. Chris and I try to carpool to work together on Thursdays to save some gas and spend a little time together without Avery. We used to carpool a lot more often at my previous job, so I really enjoy this once-a-week routine.

When we carpool, I take Chris downtown to his office around 8:10 a.m., then I head east on Washington Street to my office and get there around 8:30 a.m. By the time I leave work around 4:30 p.m. and get downtown, it’s nearly 5 p.m. when Chris gets off work. It’s a perfect schedule for us.

Chris took some shots of the skyline as we approached downtown.

There is a ridiculous amount of construction downtown right now. It’s a combination of typical street repairs and prepping for Super Bowl XLVI that will take place here in February (give a shout out for the end of the NFL lockout!).
See…orange barrels everywhere!

I had a pretty quiet, typical day at work. So I took a few pictures of the tools I use a lot. Here’s the date stamp I use to mark every report I receive from our collegiate and professional chapters.

Here’s a handy reference for the Greek alphabet. I still haven’t memorized the whole thing yet so this really is very helpful.

When people call to pay their fees over the phone, I use this credit card form. And in the back is my timesheet for next week.

On my way to pick up Chris, I took a scenic detour through my old stomping grounds in the Irvington area of the east side of Indy. Here’s the hospital where my sister and I were born.
And if you look carefully, you’ll see the street sign for the street where we lived until I was about 13 years old.
As I was waiting for Chris this afternoon, I noticed the temperature gauge. Pretty normal for us lately.

After making a quick stop at home, we headed to Chris’ parents’ house for a swim, dinner and to pick up Avery.

Poppaw, Daddy and Avery enjoyed a dip in the pool while Mommaw and I watched from the deck.

Chris kind of forced Avery to dip her head under water. We praised her after she came up so she wouldn’t cry!

What’s a dip in the pool without splashing everyone?

Meet Molly, the world’s fastest three-legged dog.

Daddy loves to show off for Avery by diving into the pool. He even does somersaults when she requests them.

Dinner was BLT sandwiches, corn on the cob and Jell-o. It was a true Indiana summer dinner!

After dinner, we played for a little bit then put on Avery’s pajamas and headed home. She was in bed and asleep by 9 p.m. She was plum tuckered out!

With Avery in bed, it was time for us to relax a little. I enjoyed my newest guilty pleasure, a Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream Bar. Go out and buy a box today. They are so yummy!

Chris finished another chapter of homework, making him a full week ahead of schedule. Now he has to complete only one more week of homework and his final exam before this class is over!
One more work day, and then it’s the weekend!
