In his gospel, John jumps straight from Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the Last Supper. This was special meal was held on the evening before Jesus’ crucifixion. Jesus knew that the time of His suffering and death was approaching.

In John 12, we see Jesus attending a dinner party and entering Jerusalem just days before His crucifixion. Simon, a former leper, hosted a dinner party with Jesus as the honored guest. Also in attendance were Mary, Martha, and Lazarus.
