What a crazy first round! For only the second time ever (and the second time in five years), a #16 seed beat a #1 seed. Unfortunately the defeated team was Purdue, although we Hoosier fans were silently happy with the loss. Besides that, there were plenty of other underdog victories during the first two days of the National Chris Clark Holiday.
Thanks to IU’s 10:30 tipoff time last night, we let the kids sleep for a few hours before waking them to watch the game. Avery and I were just too tired and went to bed right before halftime. Daddy and Damon managed to stay awake for the whole game and help the Hoosiers get a victory.
As for our family pool, Damon and Grandpa lost their championship teams, Arizona and Purdue respectively. Grandma and Grandpa are tied for the lead. And believe it or not, Avery is right behind them in third place! Yours truly is pulling up the rear.
