Damon is a real sports fanatic, just like Daddy. It doesn’t matter what the sport is, Damon loves to watch it on TV and ask hundreds of questions about it. He’s already tried to play a few sports himself in the yard at home, but the first chance he had to participate in an organized team sport is soccer.

Daddy was so excited to be able to coach Damon and his team. Chris enjoyed coaching Avery, even though she turned out not to be the athlete that Daddy wanted.

Damon recently had his first team practice.

Practice always includes a time for devotions and prayer.

All of the kids did pretty well at the first practice. I love Chris’ philosophy of teaching them the game. He doesn’t let them touch the ball with their hands throughout the whole practice, even if it’s in between drills. Because of that, his teams usually don’t have a problem with handballs during games.

Then it was game day. Everyone looked adorable in their team jerseys.

Contrary to what these pictures might indicate, Damon was surprisingly timid on the field. He can be quite rambunctious at home, so we couldn’t understand why he wasn’t going after the ball. He just loved to run up and down the field! Here’s hoping that changes soon.

Is he a mini-Chris or what?

Soccer can really wear you out!

I’m still convinced that Damon will be an athlete in some sport, I’m just not sure if soccer will be his preferred one!
