Today Avery had kindergarten testing. The purpose of the testing is to determine which students need some extra help before school starts. It also helps the teachers balance the kindergarten classrooms in the fall.

After a few tears because she wanted me to go with her (and because she was tired!), Avery did great. She scored 138 out of 154 points. (The summer 2013 district average was 108.) The only thing the teacher mentioned was sorting. She asked Avery to sort some objects, but she could only sort them in one way instead of multiple ways.

I guess the district thinks she’s ready for kindergarten!
