Christmas Eve always means spending the day with Grandma and Grandpa Hromada and Aunt Karen.

Grandma hasn’t stopped making clothes for Avery. It’s a good thing because Avery loves her handmade clothes. For Christmas, Grandma made this pink flannel nightgown.

Chris was excited for his toy — a leaf blower/vacuum.

It was a princess Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

It was time for Chris to get a new IU sockhat.

My big gift was a Cricut Expression. It cuts shapes, letters and more for scrapbooking, cardmaking and other crafts. I’ve only played around with it, but I can’t wait to use it on a few projects I have running through my mind!

Avery loved the hot pink Barbie VW Bug from Aunt Karen. Just a week or so before Christmas, Avery told me that she hoped Santa would bring her a car for her Barbies. It was too late to get a message to Santa. Luckily, Karen had already picked this out for Avery!

Grandpa was the official toy assembly man.

Grandma and Grandpa were very excited to give Avery her first taste of Hungry Hungry Hippos. Chris is convinced they forgot how loud the game is. He tried getting them to keep the game at their house…to no avail.

I don’t know who liked this dancing game more — Daddy or Avery.

After opening our presents, eating a lot of food and playing with all of the toys, Chris, Karen, Dad and I played Shanghai (a traditional Hromada card game) while Mom and Avery watched TV. I always think of my Grandma and Grandpa Hromada when we play this game.

Dad severely beat the three of us. Aunt Ann might find that hard to believe since Dad usually doesn’t play this game very well!

The three of us were pretty worn out at the end of the evening, so we skipped our usual Christmas Eve service at church. But before we collapsed into bed, we made sure that we set out cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and his reindeer!
