Our final Christmas celebration was bittersweet. We were excited to spend Christmas Day with Casey and his family, but we were dreading telling them goodbye at the end of the night. They headed back home the next day. But before that, we had a day full of presents, food and fun.

Avery and Caden each received a CuddleUppet. Avery has hardly let go of this soft and fuzzy purple monkey.

Since Shin-ya is getting more and more interested in basketball, Chris saw an opportunity to educate Shin-ya on the history and facts of the game. Later this day, Shin-ya saw Hoosiers for the first time. He seemed to enjoy it, even though he had to suffer through Chris reciting lines throughout the movie!

Beginning last year, I’ve been trying to give more homemade Christmas gifts. For me, that means scrapbook-related gifts. This year I made calendars for Connie and Elvie, filled with family pictures and special dates. I had no idea the gifts would bring both of them to tears! It’s a joy to make these gifts, but it’s more rewarding to see people’s reactions and to know the gifts are genuinely appreciated.

Caden thought it was funny when Chris made the signal for a three-pointer!

Three points for Elvie! Actually, she’s just showing off the gloves and scarf we gave her.

A Captain America T-shirt for our family’s hero.

Mike and Connie will be seeing Jersey Boys soon. They’re both very excited about it!

I love these people!

And here’s how Caden shows his love for Avery.

Mommaw and Poppaw told Avery to close her eyes for her last gift. It was way too big to wrap!

Her very own mirror! Ever since she was a baby, she has loved playing in front of the mirrored closest doors at Mike and Connie’s house. They thought it was time for Avery to have her own mirror…both for playing and for dress-up. She can be a little vain sometimes!

How many Clark boys (and how many hours) does it take to assemble a tabletop pop-a-shot game?

They finally got it working. I hope each time Shin-ya plays this game, he thinks of Uncle Chris.

A happy mom and her boys.
