Two more posts, and our Christmas updates will be done. I’m sure you’ll be glad!

Christmas morning is reserved for the three of us. As soon as we wake up, we wake up Avery too. Soon I’m sure she’ll be the one dragging us out of bed on Christmas morning!

Then we read Luke’s account of Jesus’ birth…

…before heading down the hall to open presents.

Santa was good to all of us this year!

Chris got me these cute shoes. He’s the shoe expert in the house, so I love it when he buys them for me!

Avery loves to pretend play a guitar, especially when she watches Strawberry Shortcake play her guitar. So I knew we had to get her one for Christmas. I thought I was being sneaky when I bought this guitar while she was with me. She was busy looking at other toys, so I slyly put the guitar in the cart and covered it up. I was getting away with my surprise until the guitar started making noise and playing music! Avery asked, “What’s that?” I lied and told her the guitar was for her friend Janie. I thought she’d forget all about it, but all the way up until Christmas she kept mentioning the pink Barbie guitar we bought for Janie.

So she was a little shocked when she opened the guitar on Christmas morning. She said, “I wasn’t expecting this!” I told her the story and apologized for lying. That’s the last time I try to buy a gift in her presence!

She loves rocking out on her new toy!

I don’t know why I’m always surprised when I get I Love Lucy stuff. It’s nice to know that my guy knows what makes me happy after all of these years!

Chris and I love watching Parks and Recreation together. Hands down, our favorite character is Ron Swanson. He speaks memorable lines with such a dead-pan delivery. We typically have to pause the TV to laugh uncontrollably at his comments and then rewind to hear them again.

I couldn’t resist buying this Ron Swanson bobblehead doll for Chris to add to his collection. And Karen got Chris a Parks and Rec book. I guess it was a Parks and Rec Christmas for Chris!

Since Avery enjoys playing with our Kindle Fire so much, we thought she should have her own electronic toy. We got her this LeapPad filled with fun yet educational games. She feels important now that she has her own “Kindle.”
