Last Saturday, our friend Joe gave us a wonderful opportunity. He provided free tickets to the Kentucky Indy 300 race in beautiful Sparta, Kentucky, as well as pit and garage passes. All of this was because of Joe’s “hobby” work at TrackSide Online.

Chris and I have been to many IndyCar races, but we’ve never experienced one quite like this. We thought we were getting some special access, but it turns out that anyone can buy the pit and garage passes. We were just extra lucky to get it all for free!

Joe’s wife, Janel, went along with us. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of Joe since he was working, but the three of us had a blast.

We’ll share the evening in several separate posts. Most of the posts will be pictures. And many of the pictures didn’t use much zoom. We really were that close to the action!

Enjoy!

Another hauler. This is how they transport the cars and equipment. Pretty nice, huh? Imagine how the drivers travel!

And finally, here’s the top bunk where the car goes.
