Next we’ll show you pit lane.
We first went there during the Indy Lights race. That’s the feeder series for the IndyCar series.
The teams were prepping and checking the tires.
There was an empty pit box at the end of pit lane, so I took advantage of very little security and got some great shots.
I would be remiss if I didn’t get a picture in Dario’s pit.
Near pit lane, we saw the tech inspection area. As we walked by, Chris caught a glimpse of the inspectors’ notes. He saw a few notes about problem areas on certain cars.
Here Chris is standing near the grass separating pit road from the main straightaway. Behind him is the stage used for driver introductions.
Here is a gas hose waiting to be used during the race.
Now, for the cars lined up before the race. Here is Takuma Sato’s car. He probably should have stayed here for the race because he spun and crashed in turn four of the first lap.
Simona De Silvestro’s car.
Later Simona took this picture of us in front of her car. Just kidding!
While walking on pit road, we got to experience some simulated pit stops. Check out our video post later to see the live action. Here is Sarah Fisher’s crew at work.
