Last Saturday night, we dedicated Avery’s life to God at our church’s baby dedication ceremony. We also dedicated ourselves as parents to raising her in a Christian home with God as the center of our family. We were blessed to have several family members witness our commitment.
As a gift, Avery received her first Bible, a tiny New Testament, as well as a special letter from our children’s pastor that she will open on her 13th birthday.
We are so glad to attend a church that puts such an emphasis on children’s programming. Although as her parents we are her first teachers and best spiritual role models, we know that she will learn a lot about God at church as well. We’re looking forward to Avery being a part of Bibleopolis, our church’s new children’s ministry.
We can’t wait to see all of the things Avery will learn about God. It will be so exciting to experience God in a new way, through her eyes!
Congratulations on the dedication! I hope your family was all there to experience such a special moment.
Children definitely bring out – and challenge – your sense of faith. So many whys. Such interesting interpretations. But so much faith in a tiny body.
And just wait until the first time you tell her you’re saying prayers, and she folds her tiny hands. You’ll just melt.
See you in a couple of weeks! We’re counting down too. 🙂

Experiencing God through your children’s eyes is like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. I will agree it does challenge your faith, but it is awesome to experience!! I’m so happy for you that you have little Avery in your life!
